Stephanie Alexander
Kitchen Garden Program
Students in Grades 2, 3, 4,5 & 6 take part in cooking & gardening sessions as part of our Kitchen Garden Program run by our specialists Libby Fullard and Joanne Thompson. The program teaches children to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal, delicious food in order to form positive food habits for life.
To support our program, we have a vegetable garden, wicking beds and an orchard to improve the productivity of our fruit and vegetables. We are also fortunate to have other specialists come in for our garden sessions to teach us about worms, compost and other natural and environmental factors.
The Kitchen Garden program is wonderfully supported by our local Coles, Woolworths, Landcare, Bunnings, Woodend Nursery and The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, as well as our parent volunteers.
